Spring Dates

It’s March 10 and I’m slowly stretching my way out of hibernation. Generally, I’d say it was a fine winter on my end. Crockpot was used, books were read, movies were watched, and most importantly, songs were written. Which is why this spring I’m setting up a run of solo dates to try out some new material.

The first batch of these shows can be found in the “tour section” and I’m really excited about each one of them. One of these shows will take place on Friday, May 13 with a fantastic singer/songwriter on ANTI Records by the name of Christopher Paul Stelling. Check out the live video for his song “Warm Enemy” below.

Other than that, here’s a list of some things I’m loving at the moment:

Deadwood - Short lived HBO series about the lawless, post-Civil War town of Deadwood where people went to cause trouble and make their fortune. Incredible writing, unforgettable characters, and excellent music.

Flossie Dickey - For obvious reasons.

Theaster Gates - Was awed and inspired by this man’s TED Talk in which he discussed how he was able to transform the social and economic state of his southside Chicago neighborhood through imagination, beauty, and art.

Irish Soda Bread - It’s that time of the year. Delicious, easy to make, best with a dangerous amount of butter on top.
